Hosting and Volunteering

Hosting

'Is hosting for you?'

All our host families are volunteers who open their home up to people in need.

Host families offer a life line to young homeless people, preventing them spending a night sleeping on the street and avoiding all the dangers that go along with rough sleeping.

Hosts offer beds on a night by night basis; we are not asking people to take anyone in long term. All hosts are supported through relevant training so they and their families feel prepared, this training includes:

    - First aid
    - Drug awareness
    - Equal Opportunities
    - Health and Safety
    - Child Protection
    - Adult Abuse
    - Nightstop Policies and Procedures
    - Risk and Personal Safety
Hosts are never alone either, when they have a young person to stay there is always someone on the end of the phone to offer any advice or support needed to both the host and the young person.

The best way to find out more about becoming a host is to contact us we can give you some more information, answer any questions you have and put you in touch with a current host who can give you a real insight into what hosting is actually like.

Volunteering

Like any charity we rely heavily on volunteers so if you have any skills you think could be of use to Nightstop, and would like to get in touch we are always very pleased

Nightstop are able to offer emergency accommodation through the generosity and goodwill of the volunteer hosts.
